Kempsey and Bowraville Waste Water Projects Shortlisted
Member for Oxley, Melinda Pavey, has welcomed the NSW Government’s $1 billion Safe and Secure Water Program announced in the 2017-18 State Budget.
Ms Pavcey said the Safe and Secure Water Program has been set up to ensure regional NSW communities have access to high-quality, reliable and affordable water that meets modern environmental and health standards.
“It is great to see both the Central Kempsey and the Bowraville Waste Water projects shortlisted to receive funding under the new Safe and Secure Water Program, and I will be working closely with Kempsey Shire and Nambucca Shire throughout the funding assessment to ensure these project demonstrates value for money.” Ms Pavey said.
“If funding is approved, these projects ensure the right infrastructure in place for the people and businesses of Bowraville and Kempsey.”
Ms Pavey said she will also be working right across the electorate so that the highest priority water projects are ready to receive funding under the Safe and Secure Water Program.
“The NSW Government will draw on a new catchment-wide framework to guide the prioritisation of projects, and I encourage participants to think strategically about the projects that benefit communities, businesses and industry the most.”
